A review of Railway Country Carvery by Alison Sharp written on Sunday 7th of June 2009
We have been to the Railway Carvery on several occassions. We have never been totally happy with the food or service but it is convenient for us. However the last time we attempted to eat there we were turned away because one of us had short trouser on. They were not beach shorts, they were smart short. I would expect to be turned away if it was a fine dining restaurant and there was a queue to get a table. This is a pub with pub food, and an empty pub at that. There were about 6 people in the whole pub, bar & restaurant. I'm sure that they can ill afford to turn people away with the place being so empty. The staff could do with customer service training also, because not one of them knew how to treat customers. I will not be using the Railway again
