A review of Groupe Chez Gerard Restaurants Ltd by Maggie written on Tuesday 5th of May 2009
My partner and I went to the Guildford branch on Monday around 1.15pm. We had enjoyed our meals at Pinner so we were optimistic. The restaurant was barely half full, but it took over an hour to get our main course (rouget). The head waiter did come over and say that the chef had burnt them, so we expected the replacement to arrive soon (the rouget fillets are quite small), but no! We were offered a free glass of wine each, I had to refuse as I was driving, but it took another 20 minutes to get the fish. It was annoying seeing others getting their meal - people who had come in long after us! What was annoying that I did not bring my £10 off voucher - and apart from the offer of the wine, we were not compensated. This is really not what I expected from a more up-market chain. Also the interior of the restaurant resembles Pizza Hut, not at all like Pinner which looks good..
