Tabernacle Bar & Grill restaurant in London's swinging Shoreditch is so swish it's no wonder the City types and Hoxton trendies all beat a path to the door. This Victorian warehouse has been transformed with real panache - ground floor bar divided with a mesh curtain, upstairs restaurant with Barolo-coloured leather banquettes, handcrafted Italian chandeliers and an open-plan kitchen so there's always something to watch. The modern European dishes are so fresh that the ink on the menu is barely dry before lunch service begins. Tabernacle's great share-able dishes include antipasti starter and short-horn beef ribs with fresh asparagus and truffle mash for two. And you can share a boogie in the lounge bar after.
