A key addition to Stratford’s nightlife, the bright, funky Fox serves up not only a tasty menu of cocktails and shooters, but a selection of bar snacks (beef skewers, breaded Camembert) and full modern English/European restaurant menus, one day, one a la carte, alongside a ’Specials’ board. Tuck into classics like beer battered fish and chips, and Scottish scallops with a noodle salad. Sunday lunch is served from midday to 4pm, while breakfast is available until 12pm every day. When full, ease your derriere into one of the sofas in the lounge area, or, if the sun’s out, grab a metal chair outside. Don’t miss the 5-7pm Happy Hour when all bar food and wine is half price, cocktails are £2.50, and spirits just £1.75. Bargain.
