Launceston Place
About Launceston Place
A Kensington institution, Launceston Place was brought under the D&D wing in 2007 and has been returned it to its former glory as a Great British destination restaurant. Intimate both in its setting (away from the bustle of Ken's main thoroughfares) and its atmosphere, Launceston Place lends itself to romantic dinners a deux and grown up meals with grown up friends. With work from up and coming artists hanging on the walls set against warm, sophisticated chocolate tones throughout, the feel is contemporary living room meets chic gallery. Tristan Welsh’s (formerly of Petrus) menu showcases quintessential British classics, with hits such as sirloin of long horn beef ’cobbler’ with Lincolnshire cheddar and Guinness, or drunken quail, flambéed at the table to add a touch of food theatre. Don’t miss the rather spectacular Sunday roast with all the trimmings.
