Sophie’s Steakhouse
About Sophie’s Steakhouse
Patterned after a Chicago steakhouse - and Chicago was once the stockyard of the world - Sophie’s Steakhouse serves exactly what it says on the label. In this case, Sophie is Sophie Mogford (of the founder-of-Brown’s
Mogfords). She is a trained butcher who knows to source her meat from organic suppliers in Scotland and Ireland, to hang it for 28 days and to cook it precisely as the customer orders. You choose bearnaise or house sauce, and chips, jacket or mash - it’s that simple. We do recommend you
start with one of the giant martinis. To finish, we like the pecan pie with Capaldi’s famous vanilla ice cream. Steaks range from an 8oz fillet to a 27oz Tyson-sized Porterhouse. There are fishie and veggie dishes on offer, but why try to swim upstream? The decor is hip, trendy warehouse chic, with exposed London stock brick walls, scarlet banquettes and lights on loooong
cords dangling over the tables. It is very buzzy indeed and attracts a young, hungry crowd.
