This popular Hammersmith branch of the Modern American Smollensky's Metro chain specialises in burgers. Naturally-reared, aged on the bone, rump beef burgers with a host of toppings, from traditional cheese to guacamole and bacon. Try with a bowl of cheesy fries or wet fries with gravy. Salads, pasta and veggie dishes make up the lighter bites. Special mention goes to the steaks: quite a hit. Dark plain walls, abstract art and sleek darkwood furniture successfully create the contemporary look typical of the brand.
