Hello? Are we in Hounslow? You’d be forgiven for feeling like you’d been transported to Soho once through the door and onto the glass floor of this very hot restaurant lighting up Bath Road. Prettily lit walls ? one covered in a lovely graphic frame a modernist space where cheeky red designer seats sit around clear Perspex tables. You’d never guess it was an Indian restaurant. Style comes in spades at Mantra, not least the presentation which the kitchen take up to five minutes perfecting, apparently. There’s a wealth of exotic dishes to choose from, and everyone always loves the chef’s special, tandoori bateyr quails marinated in green chillies, mint coriander and lime juice, glazed in the?tandoor and served with masala fries. His other special rabbit korma, for two needs to be ordered 24 hours before your booking.

- Spring chicken marinated in home made tandoori masala. Grilled in the tandoor and served with sweet mango "n" mint chutney £6.95- Lamb kebab flavoured with mace and figs, glazed in tandoor, served with punjabi red onion salad £5.95

- Potato and sago cakes with curry leaf, ginger and cumin, served with home made tamarind chutney £3.95

- Tiger prawns tossed with roasted onion, tomatoes and poppy seed masala £8.95- Lamb stir fried with spiced mince & red onions, garam masala £7.95
