Amaya restaurant, the India Grill and Bar, is tucked away in one of London's smartest addresses on the border of Knightsbridge and Belgravia. This award-winning restaurant is something new from the team behind super-successful Chutney Mary, Veeraswamy and the Masala Zones. Rosewood, vibrant red panels, jewel-painted tiles, Agra red sandstone, and smart Italian chairs make for a seriously stylish space peopled by a very well-groomed and well-dressed crowd, where three types of Indian grilling take place in the theatrically open kitchen. Dishes are meant for sharing. Concentrate on grilled dishes like lamb chops, lobster, tandoori chicken, fish kebabs, sweet potato. If you're still peckish, follow with a curry or biryani. Desserts include no-sugar-added options. Tasting menu, express lunch menu, and 400-calorie lunch are each tempting in their own ways. The wines are thoroughly well-matched to this high-level cuisine, with 26 available by the glass.
