Electric Railways The City & South London Railway passes under the Thames to the Borough, Elephant and Castle," Kennington Oval, on to Stockwell. The Waterloo & City Railway connects the City with the London & South Western Railway terminus, commencing at the Mansion House. The Central London Railway (opened in 1900) runs from the Bank of England Station, in front of the Royal Exchange, via Holborn and Oxford Street, Marble Arch, Notting Hill Gate, to Shepherd's Bush.
